How does Super work?

Upon entering employment with a company or organisation, they will set up a superannuation account to pay into on your behalf. This can be nominated by your employer or provided by yourself.  By law, your employer must pay you the current rate of 9.5% in addition to your income inclusive of wages, commissions and loadings. This can be supplemented with additional personal savings if you wish. If you're self-employed, you choose how much of your income you set aside for you superannuation.

As time goes on these contributions will continue to compound and grow, until you are ready to access them at retirement.

Why does Super matter?

For many Australians, their superannuation fund is the single biggest asset they will ever own. How you treat your super over the course of your working life will be directly reflected in the quality of your retirement.

We get so wrapped up in day to day life that retirement seems impossibly far away, but our clients tell us time and time again that it happens in a flash. Thanks to medical advancements, our life expectancy continues to get higher as well, and those extra years require extra savings.

When it comes to retirement and superannuation, time is definitely your ally! The more time in advance you prepare, the better off you will be later.

It's never too early OR too late to take control of your Superannuation!
